LS3 to 911 Swap Overview
The mission of this kit began when I discovered that swapping an LS engine into 997 911s required cutting/surgery to the Porsche chassis and deck-lid. There were also many other compromises with this swap that until now, were downplayed as minor inconveniences. I felt these things were unacceptable, and set out to develop this kit that does not have any of these compromises. The things I found unacceptable include but are not limited to;
Cutting, welding, and fabrication skills required.
Cutting out the rear section of the chassis
Cutting up the underside of the deck-lid.
Sacrificing the engine bay fan.
Hanging the engine by its cylinder heads.
Relocating the power steering pump to the front trunk.
Replacing the Porsche motor mounts for generic rubber bushings.
Losing any chance for a true emissions legal swap.
Losing cruise control.
Wiring and electronics that require pinning and de-pinning connectors. Making them not really Plug n Play.
Engine accessories placed on the incorrect side of the engine vs. how the Porsche engine bay is set up.
End user fabricated transmission mount.
